Damon “Doc” Johnson Joins SUR As in-house DJ

Sheryl Underwood is bringing the party to Sheryl Underwood Radio (SUR) listeners, announcing the addition of Ohio native, Damon “Doc” Johnson as the official in-house DJ.

Johnson, a multi-talented musical mixologist, joins the Sheryl Underwood Radio crew as the mix-show DJ. Doc is a DJ/Engineer/Producer and Apparel Designer, who has made a name for himself in music and entertainment, snagging notable celebrity interviews with Lil Duval (Comedian & Actor), Mo’nique (Comedienne & Actress) and Jeremy Piven (Actor), but, according to Johnson, “No one left quite the impact on me like Sheryl Underwood (TV/Radio Host and Community Activist).” He adds, “ Sheryl, Vic Frost (Executive Producer at Sheryl Underwood Radio) and I hit it off immediately and after they tuned into one of my Doc’s Live Lunch Mixes, Sheryl offered me this opportunity.”

Underwood says, “I’m so happy that Doc is joining the Sheryl Underwood Radio family. He is a very talented entrepreneur with great energy and creativity…when I heard him mix the Bee Gees and Trap music together, I was impressed. I’m honored to be in position to help a young brother elevate his craft and his visibility on the SUR platform of over 644 domestic and international affiliates.”

Vic Frost, “Super Producer” and Executive Producer of SUR, adds, “Having our very own in-house DJ, makes the listening pleasure that much more enjoyable. He’s a bonafide mixologist.”

Doc will curate the musical vibe for Sheryl Underwood Radio’s “Mashup Mix” (every genre), “Late Night Cupcaking” (Slow Jams and Dedications), “Auntie Sheryl’s House Party” (Hip Hop, R&B & Funk) and “Spiritual Nourishment” – The Best Bible Study on Radio (Gospel).

Johnson began his musical journey playing viola for several years until he received his first pair of turntables at age 13. He later relocated from Ohio to North Carolina, spinning his talent into an internship at radio station WRSV Choice FM 92.1 (Raleigh-Durham), where Doc worked his way up from an internship to currently hosting and DJing a midday show Monday-Friday.
